Thank you! I've been face down in a pillow since about 4pm on the 4th! we had the '30 roadster out in a parade with about 30 other Model A's, then on to an ice cream social. Fun, but at 103 degrees, exhausting!
Welcome to The Painted Woman blog! We admire the Art Deco era, particularly the 1930s: films, fashions, cars, cocktails, music, architecture, and literature - from popular authors like E.F. Benson, P.G. Wodehouse, Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie to the classics. We like surrounding ourselves with beautiful everyday objects from 1928-38, and dressing in authentic 1930s style, but detest "vintage snobbery" in all forms. We began researching beauty and fashion of the 1930s because secondary sources on these subjects didn't provide the level of detail we required, and now wanted to share what we have learned with other lovers of vintage style!
